Story Time: Flamingos

I found this very cute flamingo handprint craft at Hobby Lobby in the 80% off Valentine's section, and liked them so much I put together a flamingo-themed story time just so I could use them.

We read Sylvie by Jennifer Sattler - very cute and perfect for my 2-4 year old audience. If I Knew a Flamingo by Karen Sutula, which I actually read first, did not hold their attention and I probably won't use it again. After shaker songs, I ended with Molly Idle's Flora and the Flamingo, which was my first attempt at a wordless picture book for story time. It went over just fine! We did some of the stretches/dances with Flora and the Flamingo, and they loved the flaps.
