Girl & Doll Headbands

Crafts for American Girl dolls (or any 18-inch doll) at the library have been popular. We've done hats for the Derby, masquerade masks, t-shirts, and library cards & books. Tonight we did matching headbands for girl and doll.

There wasn't much prep work for this activity. We bought half-inch white plastic doll headbands and identical half-inch white plastic girl headbands. I set up hot glue guns on all tables and got out all the craft stuff I had on hand that would work, which included: washi tape, feathers, rhinestones, beads, sequins, yarn, Prima Flowers, ribbons, bows, pom poms, and mini rose embellishments. Another option would have been fabric scraps from our sewing class.

As always, I was really impressed with what the kids (and moms!) came up with.
