Pip the Library Elf
I'm using our Elf on the Shelf to promote the library on Facebook.
Meet Pip the Elf, our newest patron from the North Pole! Pip loves to read, so he stopped by to get a library card and check out a Christmas book.
Library cards are free and easy to get; just bring your ID and proof of mailing address to the library.
These were from my American Girl library cards and books.
Pip the Elf found a puzzle! There are several puzzles, as well as blocks and puppets to play with in the Children's Room.
Pip the Elf is exploring all the books at the library. Did you know you could check out up to 25 items at a time?
Pip the Elf heard Santa is visiting the library this week! Santa will be reading a story and taking pictures with children. Pip is so excited!
Pip the Elf found a book about magic tricks! He is practicing some tricks and crossing his fingers for a magician during the Summer Reading Program.
Pip the Elf found Miss Maggie's craft closet and made a Story Time craft! Story Time is every Wednesday at 2:00 and Thursday at 10:30 for toddlers, and includes stories, songs, and a craft.
Pip the Elf is exploring our comic book and graphic novel section! You can find comics for any age, from children to adults, at the library.
I found the Captain America accessories here.
Pip the Elf and Pete the Cat are playing chess at the library. This might take a while, good thing it's Tuesday! Tuesdays are our late days; the library is open 'til 7:30.
Today Pip the Elf is reading a cookbook and planning what to make for Christmas. Did you know you could find cookbooks for kids (and adults!) at the library? The chef's hat I made from a coffee filter and strip of cardstock.
Pip the Elf found the Game Room at the library! The Game Room has a Wii U and a Playstation 4. We also have video games you can check out!
I found the Minecraft Creeper head here.
Pip the Elf found Chicka Chicka Boom Boom at the library. He likes it so much, he says he'll have to renew it so he can keep it longer. Books check out at the library for 2 weeks, and can be renewed twice.
Pip the Elf loves the library's Online Services! He can read ebooks, magazines, or newspapers, do genealogy, or take lessons to play an instrument or speak a foreign language, all from his computer! You can access our online services anywhere from our website. All you need is your library card number and password.
Today Pip the Elf read "Waltz of the Snowflakes" by Elly MacKay and got in such a Christmas spirit that he had to make some snowflakes of his own! Come get in the Christmas spirit at the library with our Grinch Party (Dec 12 at 5:30) or our Literary Christmas Program (Dec 16 at 3:00)!
Extra, extra! Pip the Elf found the library's newspapers and magazines. In addition to newspapers, we have current issues of 42 different magazine titles that can be checked out!
Pip the Elf found a book on soccer and is practicing his moves! In the Children's Room, we have Juvenile nonfiction, fiction, easy readers, audio books, Playaways, and biographies.
Pip the Elf is getting ready to head back to the North Pole. The library will be closed December 25-January 1. Merry Christmas!
