Story Time: Halloween Party

We started with "The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That! Halloween Fun for Everyone!" lift-a-flap book. We followed with Margery Cuyler's "Skeleton Hiccups" and Alice Schertly's "Little Blue Truck's Halloween" (also a lift-the-flap book!).

Our craft was a fun candy corn guy, which I found at Doodle Bugs Teaching. However, I thought I needed to make them a little simpler for the toddler-age kids I was working with. So I had the candy corn, limbs, feet, and hands already cut out and ready for them to assemble. Here is a pdf of what I used.

I do a little extra for holidays. I knew the kids would be bringing candy, so I wanted to do something salty. So we had pretzel stick witch's brooms (idea from Hip2Save) and mummy juice boxes (idea from Be Different Act Normal).

We also had Halloween treat boxes! And I left up our decorations from the Halloween Carnival which was the night before, and played Halloween music/videos on the projector as we did our craft.
